| Custom Connectors We didn’t become the leaders in custom probe connectors overnight. As IDI spring-loaded probes provided test engineers with the reliability they demanded we asked the simple question: why not introduce our superior interconnect technology to the product side? So, in the early 1990’s, IDI introduced probe technology to designers of products where interconnect reliability was a top priority. The result of this initiative was the launch of the first line of IDI Battery Contacts and a design service for custom connector solutions in 1994.
From the start, IDI probe technology gained wide acceptance by product designers looking for “first stroke, every stroke” reliability over the life span of their products. In addition, we could expand sizing, mounting and profile options to solve new interconnect challenges.
