Synergetix

Semiconductor Probes
IDI continues to live up to its reputation as the innovators in probe technology — still refining semiconductor probe design, pushing the boundaries of spring probe development, and experimenting with radical concepts for spring operated contacts. Yet, IDI engineers have had a unique advantage in the development process of their semiconductor probe line. Day in and day out, IDI probe design engineers have worked along side with specialized test socket design engineers.

The creation of the Synergetix brand, evolved from the recognition that the market had a need for custom solutions using spring probe technology. High frequency test sockets were a natural fit and Synergetix quickly achieved an expertise in test socket design. IDI probe designers could test the waters with innovative probe concepts and receive immediate feasibility feedback from their Synergetix socket designer counterparts. Through this collaborative effort, the needs and concerns of socket designers were addressed from day one, producing a high performing, fully applicable solution.

Your only choice for reliable readings over 500,000 cycles.
Today, IDI semiconductor probes have become the first choice for test socket manufacturers who are looking for superior electrical and mechanical performance not found in conventional interconnect options. These miniscule semiconductor spring probes are essentially transparent in the electrical test path and maintain low and consistent contact resistance. Mechanically, these probes provide a superior life expectancy, with cycle life consistently surpassing 500,000 cycles. With IDI probes integrated into socket designs, socket product life and reliability have been dramatically advanced.

We offer a full line of semiconductor probes, ranging from 1,27 mm down to 0,5 mm pitches — each with unique and varying electrical characteristics and mechanical advantages. As the miniaturization of today’s devices continue, with lead pitches headed lower than 0,5 mm and test speeds well above 10 GHz, engineers have been challenged to design a series
of test socket probe designs to meet the industry’s ultra-fine pitch requirements. IDI continues to provide spring contact technology that meets today’s miniaturization trends while satisfying the performance demands for extremely low contact resistance.

With the Eighth Edition catalog, IDI introduces three new Semiconductor Probes in order to meet new challenges of the test socket industry.
